My Daily Evening Skin Care Routine
It's that time of the year when we are all suffering from the massive attack of yellow dust storm blowing from China. You don't want it to damage your precious body, especially your skin. Skin is one of the most sensitive body parts, thus require constant care on a daily basis for both morning and evening. I would say evening care is more important because that's when you come back home from outside with lots of dusts and germs on your face. I personally have my own evening skin care routine and I'd be happy to share it. I basically keep it to three simple steps: cleanse, tone and moisturize.
The first thing you should do right as you get home is to remove all make ups on your face and cleanse. You should make sure your skin is clean so that it can absorb all the essential and good ingredients from skin products that you are putting on after. Choose a remover that you find is the most effective for your skin. Soap or foam cleanser works just fine, but try to use products that feels more gentle on your skin rather than the ones containing harsh chemicals or alcohol. My favorite make up remover is extra virgin olive oil. This might sound weird, but it works the best for me. It does not strip my make up right away but it gradually breaks all what's on my face down without irritating my skin. I take four drops, rub them on my face and leave them there for ten minutes. After, I use a small pump of foam cleanser to wash them out.
Now that your skin is all fresh and clean, it is time for one of the two essential steps, toning your skin. Take the toner on a cotton pad and gently wipe it across the face. It gets in to the pores and helps prevent breakouts. Your toner should be calming and nourishing. Choose a toner that has botanical elements which works wonders for all types of skin. It should be alcohol-free because alcohol dehydrates and hurts your skin. Feel your skin to the touch and if it feels cool, it's a sign that you are using the right toner. After toning your face, you will feel that your skin is nice and balanced.
Last but definitely not least, you are going to put on some moisturizer to hydrate your skin. Take the facial cream about the dime size amount on your finger, and put it on your forehead, nose, chicks, and chin. When applying, work against gravity and move the cream upward. That way, it can give resistance to wrinkles and be applied evenly on the skin. The moisturizer you should look for is not the one with millions of ingredients, especially if you tend to have a sensitive skin. Choose something that has only key essential ingredients such as glycerin.
For a brief recap, you first start off by cleansing your entire face and then follow by toning and finally moisturizing. As much as it is tempting to believe that using lots of products from expensive brands works wonders, that is far from the truth. There's no harm in keeping it simple when it comes to skin care, because what your skin really needs is not artificial chemicals but natural ingredients. For additional tip, don't neglect drinking water. Just because you are putting products on your face, that doesn't mean miracle is going to happen right away. Half the battle is what you put inside your body, and water tremendously helps hydrating and nourishing your skin. Be patient and keep trying until your skin starts to glow and becomes healthier!
grammatical error: require -> requires* on the first paragraph!
ReplyDeleteHello, I read your essay interestingly since I'm also a female university student interested in skincare routines. Though, I think the topic of the essay was the process analysis essay of a festival or holiday. Without this mistake, I think your thesis statement was fully mentioned in the introduction, all the logical sequences are written in details. Also you made great recommendation in the conclusion too. Next time, I guess you should think about the topic one more time!
